(Markus & Tisha Log Entry)

May 23, 2165- Emilia's biotic abilities are starting to advance over the years. We started to see her use the abilities to obtain the items she wants . For a two year old, she is starting to learn  fast. We're surprised she hasn't learned warp yet. In any case,  we haven't seen any drastic change in her powers. She walks, talks, and acts like a normal child. We believe that she is fascinated with what she can do with her biotics. Its scary but at the same time interesting.  (End Log)

(Markus &Tisha Log Entry)

August 8, 2166- Today, we discovered Emilia's abilities to forge a singularity. She was floating around  giggling. It doesn't seem to suck her in, we told her to get down but she  said that she doesn't know how. We were getting  worried that she might fall and hurt herself. We have no idea how to get to her without getting close to it. After bout a  minute and a half the singularity disappeared , Markus caught Emilia before she fell on the table. After we had a long talk about the misuse of her abilities, we decided to discuss the issue about getting Emilia L1 implants. Markus disagreed  and told me about the dangers and the side effects. He suggested we wait a bit til the implants improved.  As a mother,  I feel its our responsibility to give our child the help that she needs. But he was right, it was lacking development and I don't want to lose my daughter over some lab experiment gone wrong. So, we decided to wait some more.  (End Log)

(Markus Log Entry)

November 19th, 2170- Today was a sad day. My  mother in law passed away this morning. Tisha was so heartbroken that she couldn't speak. Emilia ask me what was wrong with her. I told her that grandma passed away. She didn't understand what I meant so I explained to her about life and death.  I knew she was smart but I didn't think her emotions would drive her biotics out of control. She started to cry and her body started to glow.  When I tried to calm her down, her biotics wouldn't subside. Her powers started to rapidly grow in strenght, breaking every dish and glass in the house. My wife rushed in asking me what did i do. I told her and got mad at me. It didn't help that our daughter's biotics was getting out of hand. So, Tisha calmed her down by singing her a song that she used to put her to sleep. I saw her aura diminish and  her cries die down. Tisha rocked her to sleep while singing  her song to soothe her. I wanted to say something but I decided not to because I feel I caused too much damaged to mend anything. (End Log)


   Two years has passed, and all is well for the Knights family. Emilia is doing well with her home school education. Markus has been promoted to work as a diplomatic representative for the colony. And Tisha is managing their home while taking care of Emilia. At the Knights residence, Tisha invited her friend, Kathy over for lunch to discuss important matters. Tisha and Kathy sat in the living room having drinks and sandwiches and chips while watching the news on the holo screen. Kathy grunts, '' Politics, don't you hate them?'' Tisha sighed, '' Yeah, but you got to understand how important it is to have politics. Someone has to manage the system.'' she said. '' Fuck the system.'' she retorted. Tisha hushed her foul mouth friend, '' Not in my house. You know I don't tolerate that kind of language.'' she said. '' Sorry. Its just I don't trust what they say these days. They talk the talk but never walk the walk. Their nothing but a bunch of shady pricks.'' Kathy took a bite of her sandwich while watching the news. Tisha looked away for a brief moment looking at a picture of herself, Markus, and Emi at a park smiling. Kathy noticed, '' Hey, something on your mind?'' she asked. She turned to her friend to answer, '' Its Emilia, I feel that her biotics are starting to become a bit unstable. Three days ago, she was using her biotics to get the oil from the cabinet.'' Kathy cuts her off, '' I don't see how her biotics is unstable from getting a bottle of oil?'' she said. Tisha continued, '' I was getting to that. As soon I grabbed the bottle she complained how much her head was hurting. I told her to lay down for a while so that the pain can go away. She did and when I went to check up on her she was in dire pain. We took her to the hospital. Luckily, an asari was visiting a friend there and helped me calm Emi's powers down. I have my moments but this really scared me.'' she sobbed. Kathy rubs her back to comfort her, '' Hey, its ok. She's fine now. Did you and Markus ever get her any implants?'' she asked. Tisha shook her head. Kathy looked away, '' I see. If you don't get her those implants, her biotics will become too much for her. In other words, it will kill her.'' she said. Tisha stood up, '' You don't think I know that! I told Markus about this! He wanted to wait for a better implant to come out. He didn't want to use L1s because its a prototype and not many have them. L2s have been proven to be really dangerous, only a few have L2s and are coping with the side effects that could be both a minor and a major issue. I told him about the L3s and he still wanted to wait.'' she cried. '' I don't know what to do. I feel that he doesn't care. He feel that Emi's powers will blow over. I knew Emi was special the moment she was born. I want what's best for her. '' Kathy stood up from the couch holding her friend. '' Hey, its ok. You don't have to worry. How about I contact my husband and see if he's willing to get your daughter implants.'' she said. Tisha looked at her suprisingly, '' No, I can't. I don't want to ask too much of you.'' she said. Kathy smiled, '' I don't mind at all. I'll give him a call and tell him its an emergency. Your daughter will get the implants that she needs and I will have the bill foward to me. I know you and Markus are saving up for her tuition. Consider this as a early birthday present from me.'' she said, with a smile. She hugged her feeling relieved, '' Thank you, your a true friend.'' Kathy smiled as they both sat back down to enjoy the show.

Later that evening, the Knights family are having dinner in a small dining hall next to the kitchen. Markus talked about his day at work while the mother listened. Emilia use her biotics to get a basket of rolls but the basket dropped the moment her head started to hurt, startling the parents. '' Emilia, I told you not to use your biotics. If you want something, ask for it.'' the mother scolded. Emilia replied, '' Yes, ma'am.'' The father noticed his wife worried expression, '' Honey, are you alright?'' he asked. She looked at him and back at Emilia, '' Emilia, can you excuse us? I need to discuss something important to daddy.'' she said. Emilia nodded leaving the table to go watch the holo vid. Markus put his drink down after getting a sip to swallow the food, '' Alright, what do you want to discuss?'' he asked. Tisha took a deep breathe to calm her nerves, '' I was thinking about getting Emilia's implants.'' He cut her off immediately, '' Tisha, we've been through this.'' he said, about to continue but gets cuts off. '' Listen, Markus. I've been hearing good things about the L3 implants. Unlike, the other two they have drastically improved its performance. Most people, with L3s have shown no major signs of any major headaches or life threatening effects. This could be the implants Emilia needs.'' she said. The father was not convinced, '' I know you done your research but I feel that she needs to wait a bit longer for a better one to come along.'' The mother felt displeased, '' Any longer and our daughter will die. She could developed aneurysm from the strain she has on her brain. Humans only use 10% of their brain. She uses more than that. If we don't get her those implants she could die. Do you want what's best for our daughter?'' she asked. The father stood up from the table, '' I do. But I want to give her the best implants that she needs. Not some down grade implant which I know they won't do much for her.'' he said. '' But she will have better control of her biotics.'' she stated. The father looked away staring at the window watching the view. '' I would do anything for our daughter, but we can't afford the expenses.'' he said. The mother stood up standing behind him giving him a hug, '' We don't have to worry about that. Kathy is willing to help out. She said she will pay for the implants and any other expenses for our daughter. Consider it a early birthday present to her.'' she said. Markus groan not liking the idea. He turned around looking into his wife's eyes, '' Is she willing to go through with it?'' he asked. The wife nods. The father nods, '' Ok. Make the call.'' he said. The mother smiles hugging Markus, '' Oh thank you, sweetheart. I'll make the call right now.'' she said, dialing the number on her omni tool to call her friend. Kathy picked up the call.'' Hey, Tisha! What's up?'' she said. Tisha explained the situation to her friend. Kathy nodded, '' Alright, I'll give him a call. I'll send you an email once I get confirmation.'' she said, ending the call. Markus and Tisha decided to spend some time with their daughter til they get word from Kathy.

A week has passed since the arrangements. Markus and Tisha sits outside watching their daughter playing with her hanar plushie not using her biotics. Markus sighed, '' Its been a week. Did her husband declined the offer?'' he said. Tisha looks at him, '' Be patient. She'll let us know soon.'' she said, watching Emilia play in the grass. Tisha's omni tool made a beeping sound notifying that she has a message. She opens her omni tool and reads it. Her eyes widen, '' Markus, Kathy said her husband is coming today to pick Emilia up.'' Markus stood up from his seat, '' What? So, soon?'' he asked. She nods, '' Yes. And he should be arriving within the hour.'' she said, closing her omni tool. Markus rushed inside to pack up. About an hour later, the father walked out with two suit cases and a backpack for Emilia. Emilia walked up to him, '' Are we going on a trip?'' she asked excitedly. Markus nods, '' Yes, Emilia. We are.'' Emilia jumps for joy, '' Yay! Galaxy trip!'' she said.

The Knights family arrived at the shuttle port to greet Kathy's husband. A middle aged military soldier stood by the shuttle seeing the Knights family. He walked up to them. '' Hello, I'm Sergeant Charles Baine of the Sixth Fleet. You must be the Knights family.'' he said, shaking the father's hand. '' Yes. I'm Markus Knights. This is my lovely wife, Tisha and our daughter, Emilia.'' he said. '' So, are we ready?'' he asked. The mother nods, '' Yes, we are.'' The sergeant looks displeased, '' I'm sorry. What do you mean, ' we'? '' he asked. The parents looked confused, '' We're going with you so that our daughter can get the implants.'' he said, unsure of what's going on. The sergeant sighs, '' I feel that my wife haven't told you that I specifically came for your daughter.'' he said. The parents looked at him in disbelief. '' Are you serious?'' he said. The sergeant nods. The mother shook her head, '' Why can we go with her? We're her parents.'' she said. Emilia looks at her parents, '' Mommy, what's going on? Are you sending me away?'' she said, sadly. The mother kneeled to her, '' No. We're not. It seems that this man has a change of plans that we're not aware of.'' she said. The father glared, '' You better have a good explanation to why we can't go with our daughter!'' he said. '' Ever since the shut down of the BAaT, biotic training is now being handle by the military and some private firms. Once we get your daughter L3 implants she is going to a biotic training camp. There she can honed her abilities with people who is trained to teach kids like her how to use biotics properly and effectively.'' he stated. The mother looked at him, '' Are you saying we can't be with our daughter?'' she asked. Emilia held on to her mother and father tight, '' I don't want to go! I want to stay here with you!'' she said, crying. '' I'm sorry, Emilia but your gonna have to come with me. You will see your parents soon. I'll give you a moment to say goodbye.'' he said, walking away. The father stopped him, '' Wait! Is there any other way that one of us can go with her? She's just a kid. She needs her parents to be with her. She'll be easily frightened.'' he said, trying to change his mind. The sergeant sigh, '' I wish there was more that I could do for you but its out of my hands. I'm only covering the expenses of the trip, the surgery and her admissions to the academy. But I can assure you that she will be under better protection by the alliance military service. You have my word.'' he said. He growls hating the idea. He looked back to see his wife holding Emilia, '' Give us a moment.'' he said, walking back. The sergeant nods going back to the shuttle to wait. The father hugged his daughter. Emilia hugged him, '' Can you guys come with me?'' she asked. The father can only shake his head. The mother holds her daughter, '' Listen, sweety. I know its hard to leave us. But you are getting the help that you need. Soon you won't have those headaches anymore. And you will use your biotics all you want. As long as you do it to help yourself and others. Remember to never use it for personal endeavors.'' she said. The father holds them both, '' We love you, Emilia. Never forget that ok. Before you know it, you'll be home with us.'' he said, with encouragement. She hugged her father and looked at her mother with tears in her eyes, '' Will I ever see you again?'' she asked. The mother looked at her, '' What does your heart say?'' The daughter thought, '' I don't know. Maybe. One day. Yes.'' she said. The mother smiled, '' Than you will.'' she said, hugging her one last time. '' I love you, Emilia. If you can, send us an email.'' she said. The daughter nods hugging her, '' Ok, mommy.'' she said, pulling away holding her plushie hanar. She picked up her backpack walked away for a moment but stopped turning back seeing her parents wave at her. She waved back slowly as she turned away walking towards the shuttle. The shuttle opened as both the girl and the sergeant gets in. They sit down as the shuttle door closes. The shuttle thrusters turned on as it slowly ascends off the ground. The shuttle turned and flew off to the sky. The mother and father stood there watching the shuttle leaves til they couldn't see it anymore. '' One day.'' he thought.
